DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING DURING HYPNOSIS?

You do have to come with an open mind and do the things that I ask you to do — that’s how we help your brain make those positive changes more quickly and easily. Other than that, your only job is to get comfortable and let yourself relax. You don’t need to concentrate, “empty your mind,” or try to make anything happen. Just listen to my voice and allow your thoughts to wander where they want to go. Even if your mind drifts or you’re not sure you’re “doing it right,” that’s completely fine — your subconscious is still listening and doing exactly what it needs to.

WILL I BE ASLEEP OR UNDER ANYONE'S CONTROL?

No, not at all. You’ll be awake and aware throughout, able to talk, move, or open your eyes whenever you want. It’s more like drifting into that calm, floaty feeling you get just before sleep or when you’re completely engrossed in a good book.

CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTISED?

Most people can — because hypnosis is a natural state of focus that we all experience daily. If you’ve ever arrived somewhere and can’t remember parts of the journey, or found yourself lost in a daydream, that’s the same state we use in hypnotherapy.

That’s such a common worry — but don’t panic! You don’t have to try to relax; it happens naturally as your mind follows my voice. Even if you think ‘I’m not sure this is working,’ your subconscious mind is still listening and benefiting.

WHAT IF I FALL ASLEEP DURING HYPNOSIS?

That’s perfectly fine! Even if you drift off, your subconscious mind continues to hear and process everything it needs to. Some clients find they nod off for a few moments — it’s all part of your brain’s natural relaxation response.
